Vector Text Effect

Glittery Text Effect

As you see, it does not look like a silver dust that glitters and shimmers. But somehow, there are some similarities on it, the original of the effect and my version.

Colorful Text Effect

I had fun making this effect. Aside from the clear steps or instructions in the tutorial, it is fun because it is easy and some of the steps are keep on repeating hence, I already memorized some steps. For me, it looks like the original, not looking at the colors because I revised it with my own colors but there's a little bit you know, wrong in making my background.

What Did I Learn?

I learned was again to be patient in making and following the steps. I almost want to quit making the effects because almost all the effects in the site were difficult for me as a beginner. Even though it has a so called status, whether it is for beginner, intermediate and difficult. I found it difficult. It is important that you have your sincerity in making this kind of activity.

My Insights Using the Adobe Illutrator

I am having a hard time using the software. Why? Because I am not familiar with the tools on it and the pasikut-sikot on the said software. But I came up with a conclusion that soon before the summer class ends, I will get used to it. It is like in Adobe Photoshop, at first I do not know how to used it, until certain activities and lessons that is related to Photoshop were taught to me.

Logo Design (Blogging Assignment No. 4)

MY LOGO DESIGNS

 Lettermark Logo

As you see, my logo contains two letters which are "M" and "D". These letters stands for my name which is "Margaret Dugenia" I think the stroke in my logo is very obvious and needs to lessen the stroke's size or lessen the opacity of it. I used the brush tool in creating this logo.

 Wordmark Logo

At first, my wordmark design was only my name. But I was not contented in the result of it so I think about what theme or kind of logo I will gonna create. Until I came to an idea to design about fashion since I like watching collection of nice gowns and sometimes illustrating them. Using text tool was commonly used in this logo. Duplicating some words to be their highlight in the back and changing its color and opacity.

In my third logo design, I mixed up some ideas in my first two logos. As you see in the left corner, I got it from my first design and change its color. But I did not duplicate it using the first design I only duplicate or get the idea on the first design. And the design "Fashion", I got it on my second design. I used brush tool in creating this logo.

What Did I Learn?

In this activity, I have a difficulty in getting an idea. For me, it is better that before you make a certain design especially your own design you should think of a theme to what your design is all about then sketch it. But in this case, I first make the design in the illustrator before sketching it because there was no idea coming up in my mind when I was creating my logo designs, which is wrong but not wrong literally. It's up to you if you want to sketch it or not. But my ITMM teacher told us that it is important to sketch it first so that it won't be a waste of time. I also learned the steps of creating a logo which my favorite step is the fifth step stating "Seek an inspiration".

My Website Design

My Webpage Design

The layout I made was a hard task for me at first even I follow the steps or tutorial on the same layout. It consumed my time when I was doing the header or banner. I always redo the banner until I was satisfied in the result or the outcome f the banner. We were asked to put logos or to do our own theme copying the layout in the tutorial. But I made a little mistake doing it. As you see on the upper left corner "YourWebsite", I forget to change that in my own site and the slogan itself. 

One of the things I learned in making this activity is being creative or having creativeness. I said so because you cannot make a perfect copy like the original even you follow what is on the tutorial. It uses you to think or to create another thing that matches on what you are doing or what you are copying. 

The only insight I have while making my website design using the Photoshop was tiring. It was tiring for me to use over and over again the blending options with the same effects in every part of the layout I am making. But I applied what our teacher taught as. Using the "Action", it made me easier to just click on it to the desired layer that has blending options. It was less time consuming after all and less energy consuming too.

Tutorial in Text Effects (Blogging Assignment No.2)

Metallic Text Effect

If you look at the output of the text effect, there's a reaction on the face showing or telling us "Can I really do it?" Or telling yourself that "It's hard so I it is impossible that I can create an effect like that." This effect was my first text effect assignment given by our teacher. If I would to describe the output I made using the text effect and the tutorial, I think it is perfectly done like what the tutorial shows.

Liquid-Filled Glass Text Effect

This was the second text effect that I chose using the tutorial. I was amazed by the filled-in liquid inside those letters so I managed to follow the steps on the tutorial. In the middle of the tutorial, I got confused on putting the so like crystallize liquid on the letters. Seriously, it took two hours of my time following and doing the text effect. But then, it was perfectly done and I'm proud of it.

Cookie Text Effect

This was the last effect that I followed in the tutorial. Supposedly this was not the effect I used to choose. It was something better than this. Something to do with 3D effects on the letters using the Photoshop. But unfortunately, while I was in the middle of making it, I did not notice that I got lost in the tutorial I don't remember where did I stop. I undo all those effects until it irritates me and consumed my time. It took me almost two hours making it until I saw the clock and thinking that I am running out of time. So I chose to focused on the easy tutorial and this was it. Eventually, it looks amazing in the end. I found it attractive and cool because of its unique lettering or text effect.

Lesson on the Production of the Activity

This activity was a great help for me because it will enhance more my ability in putting effects on texts. It was fun and I think I am not only who is enjoying the activity but also my co-classmates enjoy it too. In this activity, I learned how to be patient in putting different blending options on the layer style. And I learned the importance of color combination of the text effects that I can apply in the future activities that is waiting for me. I want to thanked my ITMM201 teacher -- Mr. Cedrick Zabala for teaching us the lesson about text effects.

Multimedia in our Society (Blogging Assignment No. 1)

How can Multimedia help us in our daily living?

Our society is filled with hi-technology things such as appliances, gadgets cars and etc. But these things won't work without the interaction of us, people.  Each gadgets and appliances was being made by a human being. Even though some factories uses machines but still those machines were made by humans. Nowadays, multimedia is getting on its way. Multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different contents. BS in Information Technology, BS in Computer Science, BS New Media and Computer Animation, and BS Mass Communication are some of the courses that are related to multimedia. Moving on, multimedia improves the society's daily living. It is like, every month there are always latest or new in our society. Multimedia helps a lot of people and also people were glad that things like multimedia can make their lives and work easier to manage. For example in Churches, previously the churches are using an old projector known as overhead projector. Overhead projector is a variant of slide projector that is used to display images and text to audiences. It is still a form of multimedia because of the combination of text and images but it consumes energy and time because there are these hard plastics that serve as papers that must be turned every now and then. Now because of hi-technology and the advancement of multimedia, overhead projectors was turned into LCD projectors which is a type of video projector that displays image, videos, or computer data on screens or any flat surface. Beside of being small and more portable it is also less energy consuming and a little bit less time consuming.

As an IT student, cite some examples of on how you can use Multimedia?

As a beginner in the field of Information Technology, I learned photo editing using Adobe Photoshop that was taught to us in our previous ITMM course or subject. As of now since I was already taught how to edit photos, I can apply or use it to entertain people. I can make people laugh by creating funny pictures but not only photos, I can also create invitations like weddings, birthdays, and etc. I also explored making videos but I only had a hard time putting an audio on it. So, until now I keep on practicing and exploring the world of technologies, multimedia, and so on.

In the future, how can you Multimedia be part of your chosen field/career?

In the future, I can apply and use it by entertaining people. This is what my field is about, to entertain people. IT web developers, is kind of a hard task but this is what I want. I want people will be entertained and be amazed of what I have done in future.
